but he is the only person with that surname among approximately 70,000 people

buried in old Carroll County cemeteries. Not only is his name unusual, but so is the

iron marker serving as his memorial. Only one other exists in this cemetery, and

unfortunately, neither of them provides much information about the deceased. Was

Wm. Yeatts once a blacksmith? That could account for an iron marker - perhaps a

tribute made by friends, family, or a former employer. The viewer is left with a lot of
