Memorial Page of Franklin Dinst

Private Franklin A. Dinst was born in Baden, Germany on June 8, 1832. Immigrating to the United States, he settled in Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married Louisa F. Green Dinst on March 16, 1854, and the couple had three children, Harman, Mary, and Francis. Dinst served in the Union Army during the Civil War in Company B of the 209th Pennsylvania Infantry. Following service in the Civil War, Dinst returned to Pennsylvania, living in Abbottstown and working as a laborer. The family moved to Westminster around 1885 and lived on Willis Street and then Church Street. Private Dinst died on May 12, 1909.
