Memorial Page of William Frazier
Private William Frazier was born in 1832. A skilled silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker, Frazier joined the Seventh Maryland Volunteer Infantry in August-September 1862, but by December had deserted the army. Mary Shellman remembered, "In a drunken quarrel one night he fell down the steps and broke his neck," leading to his death in 1864. His grave in Mary Shellman’s plot was not marked by a government-issued marker, probably because of his status as a deserter. Frazier’s grave is marked with a simple tablet headstone of unknown origin.
