First Sergeant Samuel D. Huber was born on April 19, 1840. Little is known about Sergeant Huber or how he came to be buried in Westminster. He served as an Ordnance Sergeant in Company A of the 13th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He fought in the western theater of the war and was killed, fighting in the Battle of the Stones River, in Tennessee on December 31, 1862.
