Private David Zentz was born in 1838. He enlisted as a Private in Company B, First Maryland Infantry Regiment, Potomac Home Brigade on September 18, 1862 at Baltimore, Maryland. Mustered in on October 31, 1862 at Williamsport, Maryland, Zentz was listed as sick in hospital at Alexandria, Virginia in July and August 1863. He was wounded on May 5, 1864 and was in a general hospital in Washington, D.C. until March 16, 1865. Yingling was mustered out on May 12, 1865 from U.S. Army General Hospital Patterson Park in Baltimore. Following the war, Zentz lived in Westminster and worked as a laborer until his death on March 25, 1873.
